HIGHLIGHTS OF THE CHEMISTRY DEPARTMENT

The Department offers Chemistry for the Intermediate and Degree courses.

The syllabus for the Intermediate level is prescribed by the A. P. Board of Intermediate education.

Undergraduate Course :

1. Two advanced courses, ‘Some special aspects of Chemistry’ and ‘Chemistry of Polymers, Drugs, Environment & Petrochemicals’ are unique features not included in the common core syllabus of Andhra University.
2. Continuous assessment is done for every experiment in practical.
3. Instrumental analysis (VI Semester Practical ) is introduced at the U.G. level for the first time in A.P.
4. The department collaborates with the Zoology department for managing the Foundation course in ‘Science & Society’ which is compulsory for all students during I / II semesters.
5. A one semester course in ‘Household Chemistry’ is offered to all students
   General Elective during the III/IV semesters.
