St. Josephs College for Women (Autonomous), affiliated to Andhra University, is a composite college offering courses from Intermediate(+2)  to Post graduation. The college attempts to contribute to the all round development of the students through curricular as well as co- and extra-curricular activities.

In this endeavour, the college has several achievements to its credit such as participation in COSIP (College Science Improvement Program), COHSSIP (College Humanities and Social Sciences Improvement Program), UGC Extension programs, offering new courses as per the needs of time and community; Computerization; Internet connectivity, Vocationalisation and Restructuring of courses to name a few.

UNDERGRADUATE COURSES (Autonomous)

ACADEMIC PROGRAMME :

As an autonomous institution, St Joseph’s College for Women, Visakhapatnam has the academic freedom to determine its own courses of study and syllabi, to evolve innovative methods of evaluation and to conduct its own examinations as a means of achieving higher standards and greater creativity in the field of education. Every undergraduate student of the college who completes the course successfully will however be awarded the Degree by Andhra University. The degree will carry the name of St Joseph’s College for Women, Visakhapatnam.
The College follows the semester pattern requiring six semesters of study for the Bachelor’s Degree - each semester is of 18 weeks duration approximately. Courses are divided into Foundation, Core and Elective courses.
Foundation Courses and Core Courses are obligatory for all undergraduate students. Elective Courses are those, which a student can choose from among several courses offered by a Department. Some of these courses can be taken by any student of the college irrespective of the faculty to which she may belong.

Three Year B.A., B.Com., B.Sc., B.Sc.(Homescience) & B.Sc. (Vocational) Courses:
